A good start to the weekend....

Aaron and I went to see our friend Dan in The Thorn tonight. We knew it would be a big production, but wow. It was really something. I'm not good at counting how many people are in a room, but the church sanctuary was huge and packed, and there were SO many cast members involved too. There were live animals... bunnies, roosters, chicks, goats, big sheep, baby lambs, a freaking CAMEL and a donkey. So impressive. Aaron and I sat on the end of a row, so we got to pet a very tiny baby lamb one of the women was holding during one of the acts. There was also angels (actors) suspended throughout parts of the play, and our friend Dan who plays Jesus is suspended in the air at one point as well. Very impressive. And while I know the story, it still moved me to tears. Also, to see Dan playing Jesus was very powerful. He did a fantastic job.

If you live in Minnesota, there are a lot of performances left if you want to check it out HERE.
(Yay! There's Dan on the first page:) Props to Kinsey Anderson for the pics!).

Dan is one of my besties, marrying one of my other besties. You may recall their engagement session photos I posted. Check them out HERE. I'm looking forward to being in their wedding in June. It's funny, because I photographed them just north of Duluth... I will also be in my brother in law and his fiance(Liz)'s wedding this May. In the morning, I'm headed up to Duluth for the first of two bridal showers for Liz.

I really enjoy Duluth. I was up there about a month ago to meet up with two of my former couples who live up there, just to see what they're up to and such.

I decided to stop at one of the parks along Superior and take some photos. There were a lot of people out that day. The ice on Superior is such an odd thing...
Here are a few pics from a month ago:

This seems odd to me, because whenever I think of sand, I think of warmth on the beach... not snow!

Taking the color out of it makes it look so much colder than it already is!:

A lot of ice chunks on the shore, still, and a lighthouse:

Little bit windy that day, too:

But the sunshine felt SO nice:)

Rumor has it, we'll be getting snow for 2 or 3 days this week, but then I would guess that would be the end of it, and we can start looking forward to spring! (Unless we get one more snow fall... which can always happen in Minnesota... but we always hope that it WON'T, ha! :))

Off to bed I go. Early morning ahead of me, and a long drive up to Duluth. It should be a fun time, though:) Have a good weekend, everyone!

I'm really glad you guys liked the show, Ging! Wish we could have talked more after the show, but apparently people like to meet Jesus. Who knew!

Additionally, the picture of the needle-y frozen grass is one of my faves in this series. Nice work!!

I love that beach. I think I've only been swimming there once when the water didn't feel freezing (It was like 100 degrees that day).

My brother used to live in Duluth so we always took our dogs there to let them run.
