A couple months ago I had the honor of shooting one of my good friends, Kaleena Miller.
She needed a pic to put in Metro magazine. She's a truly gifted tap dancer...
we've always believed in her abilities, and just when we think she couldn't
get any better, my friends and I will see one of her shows, and lo and behold,
she's even better than before (Puts on one heck of an entertaining show, might I add!!).
She contacted me last week asking if I could come shoot their dress rehearsal
in July. Um... Of course I said "YEAH!"
I can't wait!
Here's the pic that was published in Metro (a new magazine (2006) comes from the same
publishers who put out Minnesota Bride... Both are really beautiful
magazines! I love the fashion section especially, in MnB.)
Here are a few more that we shot that day!
I also really like that photo in black and white...

A day out for Sparty-Pants, and Late-night hunger attack!!
Today I went to Petsmart. I looked at all the cute dogs and cats.
Then, I got a cat leash and harness.
And I took my cat outside.
I know. It sounds super dumb. And I'm sure I looked dumb too. But whatev.
He can't be an outside cat because there is busy traffic nearby (other cats that I've
had have been outdoor cats), but I just wanted to see if he would do it....
It was a pain to get the harness on (I left the tags on in case he decided he didn't like
the whole idea).
He wasn't too excited about it, and was a bit scared to venture from the steps:
Once he did, he decided to have a tantrum. He did not like the harness at all.
("Woman! Why do you insist on making me wear this!!!?")
Then he got over it.
He went back on the steps and found a daddy-long-legs. He enjoyed the chase.
He decided to go a bit farther...
(do you see why his middle name is Longshanks?)
He got brave and ventured through the grass...
He came across sticks. He wasn't sure about them.
So he came back closer to the house, and decided to head into the jungle...
He heard a noise by the fence. He soon found out what was making the noise on the other
side of the fence. (It was a dog.) (Notice Sparty's tail...)
.................................
Last night I made this well planned dinner when my brother-in-law and his girlfriend came over.
I don't know what to call it... chicken breast stuffed with fresh mozzarella and basil leaves, on top of
linguine, all with creamy garlic sauce. And a bowl of organic raspberries on the side(Am.az.ing).
And cranberry oat cookies for dessert (which don't sound good, but they were extremely tasty...
I didn't make those... wish I knew how to though!).
Tonight I am editing photos and I just want simple mac & cheese.
I don't have any.
So, I'm going to go buy some at the convenience store.
At 10pm.
They better have it!

Liz & Don's Cabin Wedding
Here are a few pics from the wedding I shot at the end of May.
Liz and Don got married at their cabin. It was a fun filled
wedding that I really enjoyed shooting (even though
I had no voice:))!
It sprinkled just a bit that day, but honestly, we couldn't
have asked for better weather with a Minnesota May wedding!
Liz getting her makeup done.
First glimpse at her flowers. Aren't they beautiful?? She was really excited, as you can see:
At the end of the dock...
There was this amazingly beautiful covered bridge that Liz suggested having
photos at... Loved it!
Driving back from the bridge, Liz saw cows and wanted photos
by them too. The driver and I reminded her that it was
their wedding day, and they can do anything they wanted to,
so we pulled over and grabbed a quick pic. I love that the cow is
looking at us.
This is during their first dance at the reception.
They've been together since high school, so they
were completely comfortable and not nervous during the day.
There were a few tears here and there, though. So sweet:)

My first post!! ... or is it?
I've had a Xanga site for nearly four years now, which I update often, but not every day. The last year, a majority of my posts are about photography... mainly because I got into the business a year and a half ago. While my "loyal readers" (my friends:)) enjoy looking at my work, I'm not sure they enjoy me constantly talking about how things are going, business wise...
So why not start a blog based mainly on photography?
I've been working all day, and since I've arrived home, I've been reading and answering
emails... and here we are at almost 9:00pm... Maybe I should eat dinner....??? Haha!
The hubby (Aaron) is out golfing, so I became consumed by the emails and forgot that I should make food for myself. (i do that... forget to eat. But trust me... I love food more than most people.)
Last weekend I shot a wedding withouth Steph (we do most weddings together... we went to school together and were roommates a couple years), up north at a beautiful cabin.
Well, I can't say I did it all by myself...
I was really sick the week before with some weird virus. Aaron offered to drive me to the wedding (2 hours up north, at a cabin). He helped drive me around and carry some of my stuff... he was a complete sweetheart for doing that! I was exhausted by the end of the day and was without a voice. I really think the photos turned out great... we had some fun opportunities. Can't wait to share some.
This past weekend, Steph and I shot two weddings. Next weekend we have another wedding. It's our first full season doing our own business. I began working for Brad Person, and still work for him (Mon-Fri at the hospital doing newborn portrait sessions, as well as some weekend weddings with him), but with his blessing and help, I started my own business... So it's completely crazy how well things have turned out since I decided only a year and a half ago that I wanted to do this photography thing...
But wow... I had no idea what I was getting myself into!
I'm pretty much obsessed and enjoying it.
